BROOKINGS ZONE NEWS MISSION
CENTRAL MISSION TOUR A total of fifty-eight women boarded the bus on April 21, 2010 for a trip to Mission Central at Mapleton, IA. What an experience! All went home experiencing a little idea of the life of a missionary and the work they do to spread the gospel. In many circumstances it is a slow process, but God's hand can be seen in the progress they make each day. Ted Engelbrecht, serving in Vietnam, spoke of the work going on in Vietnam. He began his service in 1996 along with his wife, Jacqueline Noel. At the present time he is supervising nutrition projects with the National Institute of Nutrition in Vietnam and poverty alleviaton projects. His wife also serves by teaching French and various other subjects. Also in attendance Dr. Ngu and his wife from Vietnam, who work with Pastor Engelbrecht; Ray Hitchman the first Education missionary to Indonesia; missionaries Al & Sandy Schmidt; and Pastor Marvin, one of the first education missionaries to Vietnam. We experienced a "sending" service by laying on hands on the missionaries. Gary Thies gave us a tour of the facility. A noon lunch was prepared for the ladies in attendance. Pictures of the day can be seen on www.missioncentral.us website under News. Check it out! Here's the direct link: http://www.missioncentral.us/missioncentral/brookings_20101
